Okon, Bassey Igri is a Professor of Animal Science in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Calabar, Calabar. He holds a Ph.D from the University of Ibadan (1987). He was head of Department (1990-2000) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration (2013-2015). He is a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Animal Scientist and the Agricultural Society of Nigeria. His current research is "Production of Cholesterol Free Animal Products using Natural Plant Extracts." .
