Dr. Augustine A. Unimke is a young and innovative researcher in the field of Environmental Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Calabar - Nigeria. He joined the services of University of Calabar in January, 2016 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biological Sciences. He holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology and M.Sc. in Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology from the University of Calabar and a Ph.D in Environmental Microbiology and Bioremediation from the University of Port Harcourt. He has attended and presented papers in many conferences and he is a member of many professional bodies such as; the Nigerian Society for Microbiology and the American Society for Microbiology. His research interest includes: Pollution Microbiology (biodegradation and bioremediation), Marine Microbial Ecology (adaptation and sustainability), and Climate Change Microbiology (Biogeochemical cycling of elements)..
