Mr. Augustine Betialikong Aboh

Augustine B. Aboh is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Calabar. He joined the University as a Graduate Assistant on the 18th December, 2013. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Defence and Strategic Studies at Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Terrorism, International Crime and Global Security from Coventry University, England; and a B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Calabar. He has received a number of Grants/Fellowships including the Presidential Special Intervention Fund for Academic Staff Development, 2015, to pursue an MA degree at Coventry University, United Kingdom; and Tertiary Education Trust Fund’ (TETFUND) PhD Fellowship. His main Research and Teaching areas relates to Africa Security, small arms proliferation and governance, counterterrorism, intelligence, Organised Crime, Human security, good governance and security sector governance. He has attended conferences and published a number of articles on these issues in peer reviewed journals. He has actively participated in the formulation and review of some national security policies and strategies. Recently he was part of Office of the National Security Advisers technical team that reviewed the draft Bill for the establishment of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and light Weapons.
