Mr. Atim Paul Orim

Paul Orim is a Lecturer in the Department of Physics, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He was employed as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Physics in 2013 and was upgraded to the rank of Assistant Lecturer in 2015. He had his Primary and Secondary School Education in Army Children School, Cantonment “D”, Kaduna and Command Secondary School, Kaduna, Nigeria, He later proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria where he obtained a B.Eng. degree in Electronics Engineering in 2007. He obtained a master’s degree in Engineering Physics (Telecommunication) from the University of Calabar in 1995. During his M.Sc. programme, he benefited from an exchange programme that made him to spend one year at the Uppsala University Sweden. He has worked in the communication and banking sectors both with Airtel Plc and Keystone Bank ltd respectively before being employed as a lecturer at the University of Calabar from 4th June 2013 to date. He is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Registration of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Paul is currently studying for his doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering with the University of Cape Town, South Africa. . He is also a member of Communication Research Group (CRG) University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research interest includes, 5G wireless communications and efficient access techniques for massive machine type communications. He is a member of the following professional bodies, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering(IEEE), the Institute of Engineering and Technology(IET), the Institute of Information Technology Professionals of South Africa (IITPSA), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). .
