Professor Asira, Enya Asira joined the services of the University of Calabar in 1998 as Assistant Lecturer and has grown through the ranks. He was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2015. His educational qualificationswere obtained from University of Calabar, Calabar in Nigeria. The degrees are B.A. Philosophy obtained 1987, M.A. Philosophy obtained in 1994 and Ph.D. Philosophy obtained in 2003. He served in the Cross River State Secondary School Board before joining the University system. He has been teaching, mentoring and consequently, contributed to the graduation of many students within the University. Prof. Asira is presently a part-time lecturer in the Cross River State University of technology, Author Javis University and a visiting Professor to the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State. He has successfully supervised and co-supervised over ten graduate students’ theses. Prof. Asira has published over fifty scholarly articles in both local and international peer reviewed journal. He has also authored many books and book chapters. Prof. has served the University in other capacities including Coordinator, Post Graduate Programmes in the Department of Philosophy, University of Calabar, Nigeria.He has enjoyed some grants and fellowships from TETFund and University of Calabar. Prof. Asira has been a regular participants at many local and international conferences where he presented papers. He has served many journals as a reviewer and is presently the Editor-in-Chief of the Leajon journal. Prof. Asira has carried out many research projects in major areas of philosophy in collaboration with other lecturers and some researchers in and outside University. He is a member of many professional associations including Nigeria Philosophy Association, Research Association International, and many others. He is married with children. Professor Asira, Enya Asira is the Editor-in-Chief of Gnosi: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Human Theory and Praxis. Gnosi Journal is a biannual (June and December) anonymous peer-reviewed academic-based journal, domiciled in the “Department of Philosophy†the University of Calabar, Nigeria. .
