Dr. Aniediobong Jonah Ukpong

Aniediobong Jonah Ukpong holds a Ph.D degree in Biostratigraphy/Exploration Geology from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. He started his professional career as an Assistant Micropaleontologist in South-Sea Petroleum Consultants, Port Harcourt in 1998 after a one year NYSC programme with the company. He also worked briefly with Environmental Research and Geosciences Ltd, Port-Harcourt before joining the services of the University of Calabar as an Assistant Lecturer in 2004, where he is currently serving as an Associate Professor. Dr Ukpong has been involved in extensive fieldwork and research in various areas in the Calabar Flank. Beyond his research interest in the Calabar Flank, he has also participated in several consultancy projects in the Niger Delta and other parts of Nigeria. Dr. Ukpong won the second prize of the prestigious NMGS/Total award for 2019. .
