Sir Patrick Okon Bassey (KSM) is a professionally registered teacher, a veteran administrator par excellence, a creative resource person full of initiatives and has a wide working experience that spans over thirty eight years. This consists of eighteen years teaching experience and twenty years in the Cross River State Public Service. He holds a Nigeria Certificate in Education from the defunct College of Education, Uyo in 1980, B.Ed. degree in Political Science awarded by the University of Benin, Benin City in 1985 and M. Ed degree in Educational Administration and Planning from University of Nigeria, Nsukka obtained in 1992. He joined the services of Cross River State Secondary Education Board in 1980 as teacher where he rose to the rank of Vice Principal in 1993. He later transferred his services to the Unified Local Government Service as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer in 1993. He served in various capacities in many Local Government Councils including Clerk of the Legislative, at Obubra, Calabar and Yakurr Local Governments, Head of Personnel Management (HPM) in Obubra and Odukpani Local Government Areas. Others include Co-ordinating Director and Head of Local Government Administration at Ikom and Obubra Local Government Councils. Sir Patrick Bassey is a member and fellow of many professional associations including Institute of Administrations of Nigeria, Institute of Personnel Management and Institute of Strategic Resource Management of Nigeria. He has attended many conferences, workshops, symposia and seminars where he made presentations. Sir Bassey joined the employ of University of Calabar as Assistant Research Fellow (later upgraded to Research Fellow I) in the Institute of Education in 2014. Since then he has been involved in the teaching, researching and undertaking of several community services in the University. He is married with children..
