Dr. Ofonime Eve Mboso is a Faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria. She is a graduate of Biochemistry (B.Sc. 1999; M.Sc. 2010) from the University of Calabar. She obtained her Ph.D degree in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Calabar in 2015. She is a TWAS-ICCBS Post-Doctoral fellow (2017-2018). She started her academic career in the Department of Biochemistry in 2010 as an Assistant Lecturer, and was promoted to the rank of Lecturer I in 2017. She currently lectures both at the undergraduate and post graduate levels in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. Her major research interests include Identifying medicinal plant fractions as a source of natural product therapy for female infertility. She served as coach to the team of students who won the trophy at the Zonal quiz competition in the Nigeria Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB) Conference in 2018. Dr Mboso has served as an examination officer for Medicine and Surgery in the Department of Biochemistry. Dr Mboso is currently working on the extraction, isolation and characterization of compounds from E. polysperma and E. speciosa leaf extracts to identify their potential biomolecules for drug formulations. She is a member of Nigeria Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology..
