Dr. Offiong, Offiong Asuquo is a social critic, analyst and reformer, currently serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Calabar. He transferred his service to the University of Calabar in 2007 from the Cross River State Post Primary School Management Board after serving there between 1996 and 2007. He holds a Ph.D (2018), M.A. (1999), B. A. (1992) degrees in Religious and Cultural Studies (2018), all from the University of Calabar. Finally, he is a recipient of a Diploma in Mass Communications (1988) from the then the Polytechnic, Calabar. He specializes in Sociology of Religion, Anthropology of Religion and Cultural Studies, and has published over twenty articles in several journals and books. He has been teaching and researching at the University. Dr. Offiong Asuquo is a member of the Nigerian Association for the Study of Religions. Dr Asuquo has attended many conferences, seminars and workshops where he made presentations. He is one of the pioneer beneficiaries of the University of Calabar scholarship award for academic excellence (1990); and a beneficiary of the University of Calabar study fellowship award (2008-2015)..
