DR Mrs Elizabeth Akpanke Odey is a Senior Lecturer Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She specializes in New Religious Movement, Sociology of Religion and African Traditional Religion. She obtained her First Degree in Religious Studies (1998), Master Degree in Religious and Cultural Studies (2009) and a PhD (2016), all from the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. Additionally, she is certified education teacher with a post graduate diploma in education (PGDE) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto 2005 and a registered teacher with the teachers registration council of Nigeria (TRCN), currently awaiting result for a bachelor of Law (LLB LAW) from the national open university of Nigeria (NOUN). She is computer literate and trained for advanced digital appreciation programme for tertiary institution (ADAPTI) and She is a native of Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. She has fifteen (15) years of teaching experience. She started her teaching career at the Federal College of Education, Obudu, Cross River State on the first of September 2006, where she transferred to the University of Calabar, on the 21st of November, 2018. She has handled administrative positions namely: Head of Department Christian Religious Studies, Federal college of Education, Obudu from March 2017 to December 2018, Exam officer from 2007 to 2010 and 2016. She has twenty five (28) publications in both international and local journals to her credit and have attended nineteen (19) conferences as well as six book chapter contributions and well over four books to her credit. She is a member of reputable academic associations namely: faculties of arts/humanities scholars’ association of Nigerian universities (FAHSANU), Nigerian association for the study of religions (NASR), national association for the study of religions and education (NASRED), national association for the advancement of knowledge (NAFAK), association for encouraging qualitative education in Nigeria (ASSEQEN), international journal of philosophy & religious studies (IJPRS), international journal of scientific and engineering research (IJSER), international journal of arts and humanities (IJAH), and international journal of current research and review (IJCRR)..
