Mary Njei Abua was employed in 2018 as an assistant lecturer in the Department of Crop Science, University of Calabar, Calabar Cross River State , Nigeria. She holds a B.sc in Genetics and Biotechnology and M.sc in Crop Breeding and Genetics all from the University of Calabar. Her area of specialization is crop breeding and genetics with interest in Biometrical Genetics. She just completed a research in multi-locational trials in ginger mutant lines across different locations in Cross River State. She has also carried out research on Morphology and Phenological Studies in solanum species (Egg plant) and seed coat colour inheritance in cowpea genotypes. She is a member of the Genetics Society of Nigeria (GSN).She has two journal publications and two conference papers..
