Dr Josephine Dasel Nanjwan was born on 5/5/1969 to late Marcus Dakulic Plang and Mrs Lois-Nabueng Marcus Dakulic Plang of Takkas village in Pankshin Local Government area of plateau state Nigeria. She attended primary schools at 3 different places LGED Primary school Takkas, Dunama Primary school lafia and move over to Demonstration Primary School Gindiri in mangu Local Government area of plateau state Nigeria. She is a Christian. Josephine proceeded to secondary school at Federal Government Girls College, Gboko in 1983. She had interest in teaching line, then she later moved to Government Teachers College Keffi and completed in 1988. She went to University of Jos for Diploma, Bachelor and Masters Degree in Special Education and graduated in 1995 and 1999 respectively. She did not stop there she proceeded to do another programme where her academic success story was capped in 2011, when she bagged a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D) in Adapted Physical Education and Rehabilitation in University of Calabar. She was assessed and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Special Education in 2016. Josephine has held many positions within Faculty of Education at different times as part of her University Extra responsibilities. She serves in different committees. She has been a member of different bodies. She has published three books. She has attended more than thirty five conferences and more than fifteen workshops within Nigeria and other African countries such as Ghana and Botswana in collaboration with her senior colleague. She has more than thirty five publications in both local and foreign journals. She has three book chapters. She has successfully supervised one PhD, six masters and four PGDSE. Dr Josephine Dasel Nanjwan has worked in various places as a class teacher in various schools in Plateau and Cross River States. She did her sabbatical leave in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences. She is a visiting lecturer Department of physical and Health Education, and Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences. Faculty of Education, University of Jos. Dr Josephine Dasel Nanjwan has been engaging in community services which includes A Television programme on AM express held at Cross River Radio Broadcasting Cooperation (CRBC), A programme call Train the Trainer where she teaches teachers of persons with visual impairment computer with Jaws. Personal visitation to motherless baby homes. Her participation with the Education for Initiative Development has won a desk top computer for the department of special education. Dr Josephine D, Nanjwan (Associate Professor) started working in the great University of Calabar in 1997. At the moment she is still lecturing in the Department of special Education. She is the current Head of Department Special Education, University of Calabar. She is happily married with four children to Engr. Dasel Nanwalan Nanjwan. .
