Dr. Ironya Ogar

Dr. Ironya Ogar is a Lecturer II in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calabar. She is a graduate of University of Calabar (BSc, PhD Pharmacological Biochemistry) and The University of Nottingham (MSc Applied Biopharmaceutical Biotechnology & Entrepreneurship). She was awarded the Wyatt Technology UK Prize for attaining the highest overall mark and graduating as the best student on the MSc degree course in The University of Nottingham. Dr. Ogar is passionate about adding value to the quality of human lives through academic research that will eventually lead to development of new medicines and vaccines to prevent, cure and eradicate diseases and life threatening conditions. Some of her research findings are published in reputable local and international journals. Presently, Dr. Ogar is serving as the examination officer in the Department of Biochemistry. She is a member of Nigerian society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Society for Experimental Biology of Nigeria and Royal Society of Chemists, UK. .
