Mr Innocent Ushi Igba was born on May 11th 1982 (about 36 years ago) in Ketting-Bendi I, Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. He holds Nigeria Certificate in Education in primary education studies/social studies from Federal College of Education, Obudu, Nigeria, Bachelor of Education (hons.) Special Education, Second Class (Upper Division) from University of Calabar, Nigeria, Master Degree of Education (M.Ed) in Special Education (Visual Impairment) from University of Calabar, Nigeria and currently running Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D) programme in Special Education (Visual Impairment). He served as a Braillist and currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Special Education, University of Calabar. He has attended over four (4) conferences and workshops locally on issues of regular and special education including computer application. He has equally participated in the training of primary and secondary school teachers in Braille reading and writing under the Brien Holden Vision Institute. He has taught courses including introduction to Braille reading and writing, Advance Braille reading and writing, orientation and mobility, classroom management and introduction to special education. His teaching cut across both courses for postgraduate diploma and undergraduate students in the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education. Currently he has about eight (8) publications in scholarly journals. He has served in various capacities within the Department of Special Education as member; welfare committee, ICT committee, Resource room committee and secretary Departmental Anniversary Planning Committee. He has demonstrated leadership prowess within and outside the University community. Mr. Igba, Innocent Ushi belongs to a reputable professional organization such as National Association for Exceptional Child (NAEC). He is very skilful in the use of Microsoft Word, Braille reading and writing and enjoyed teaching..
