Dr. Gabriel Etim Ben Inyang

Dr. Gabriel E. B. Inyang started a carrier as a very young man in the Ministry of Agriculture, Calabar in 1981. In 1982 he left for the University of Nigeria Nsukka where he studied and completed a course in Health/Husbandry in 1986. He returned to the ministry in 1988 after successful one year National Service with the Department of Agriculture, FCDA, Abuja in 1986/1987 service year. He had a brief stay with the National Livestock Project Department (NLPD-A World Bank Sponsored Project) Uyo, between 1989 and 1990 (on secondment from the Ministry of Agriculture). In 1990 Dr. Inyang was employed in the Animal Science Department, University of Calabar to take charge of the Animal Farm of the University. He left Animal Science Department in 1992 for the Department of Pharmacology to oversee the Departmental Animal House. He rose to the peak of his career as Chief Animal Health Technologist in that Department in 2007. Having studied Law over the years up to Ph.D level, he got a transfer to the Faculty of Law in 2016 as Lecturer I; He is currently researching extensively in the area of Maritime Law, International Law of the Sea and Commercial Law. He is teaching Commercial Law, Law of Contract, the Nigerian Legal System and Public International Law to undergraduate students. To the post graduate students he teaches International Law, International Law of the Sea, Law of International Institutions. He is seriously working towards the introduction of Maritime Law as a specialized course in the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar. He has been in regular attendance at the yearly NBA Conference. A member of the Nigerian Bar Association and Nigerian Maritime Law Association. Dr. Inyang is happily married with five children..
