Dr Grace Reuben Etuk, formerly Grace Ugo Okolo, began her teaching career with the University of Calabar in August 1997 as Graduate Assistant. This was soon after her meritorious National Service at Kebbi State, where she bagged the Argungu Local Government Chairman’s Best Corps member of the year award. She was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2016. Dr. Etuk obtained her B.A. (Hons) Sociology degree from the University of Calabar in 1995, M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Industrial Sociology in 2000 and 2008 respectively. She has been teaching, mentoring, researching and therefore contributing to the graduation of students in the University. Dr Etuk has successfully supervised over ten post graduate theses. Dr. Etuk has to her credit three scholarly books, many journal articles published in local and international peer reviewed academic journals as well as two book chapters. She has been a regular participant in many workshops, symposia, seminars and conferences where she presented papers. Dr Grace Etuk is currently one of the two Nigerians who are members of the Grant Evaluation Committee of the Society of Christian Scholars alongside six other representatives from all the continents of the world. She has served as an Editor with the Cross River State Book Review Committee and is currently serving as both a Reviewer and Editor in a number of scholarly journals. Dr. Etuk has served as resource person to several professional and governmental bodies including the Nigerian Naval War College and the Niger Delta Development Commission. She is a member of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Association, the Society of Christian Scholars, as well as the Nigeria Association of Social Work Educators. .
