Dr. Eucharia Obiageli Obiekezie is a senior lecturer in Arts Education Department, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar, Nigeria. She joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2010 as Lecturer II. She was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2017. She was awarded a B.A (Ed) degree in English Education by the University of Port Harcourt in 1990, M.A. (Ed) degree in Educational Administration and Planning by the University of Calabar in 2002 and PhD degree in Curriculum Studies (Language Arts) in 2009. She majors in reading comprehension, quality in education and inclusive education. She has been student examinations officer and students advisor from 2010 till date. She is currently the Sandwich Programme Coordinator for Arts Education Department. Dr. Obiekezie has served and is still serving in different committees in the Faculty and Department including Member, Faculty Anti-corruption and Transparency Committee (2014-2017), and a member, Teaching Practice Committee (2019). As part of her community development contributions, she is involved in organizing reading comprehension for Primary School pupils and Secondary School students. She is a member of many academic organizations including World Council of Curriculum and Instruction International (WCCI) and a Board Member, WCCI Nigeria Chapter. Others are Association of Nigerian Teachers, Higher Education Research and Policy Network, Reading Association of Nigeria, Curriculum Organization of Nigeria and Qualitative Research Association. Dr Obiekezie is intensely passionate about mentorship in general and in particular, scholastic mentorship for quality input, process and output in the world of academia. .
