Emmanuel Paul Okoi is a well groomed scholar, researcher and educationist. He is a native of Abi LGA of Cross River State and currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He had his FSLC in Command Children School, Calabar, Nigeria (1999) and obtained his SSCE at Stella Maris Junior Seminary, Cross River state (2005). He attained a BSc. Hons. In Genetics and Biotechnology in 2010 at the University of Calabar, Nigeria. His drive for gaining expertise in current applications and techniques in biotechnology inspired him to obtain a degree in Biotechnology (MSc.) at Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom. He is actively engaged in teaching of undergraduate courses and research and has published 14 journal articles in both international and local journals across the globe. His research interests are in Recombinant DNA technology and Industrial Biotechnology which entails the industrialisation of novel products from plants and microbes through the application of biotechnology for enhancing their commercial availability to meet growing demands. He is also a member of Biotechnology Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology and Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. .
