Dr. Ekpenyong Obo Ekpenyong is a Lecturer I in the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Calabar, Calabar. He holds a Ph.D degree in Ecclesiastical Historiography (Church History) from University of Calabar (2019). He bagged M.A. from University of Calabar, Calabar with major in Human Ecology. He had B.A (First Class) 2010 from the University of Calabar, Calabar in Religious Studies. He is the recipient of the Most Rev. (Dr.) Brian Usanga’s award for the best graduating Student of the Department of Religious Studies 2009/2010 Session, the University of Calabar in 2010. He was also awarded Papa S. O. Abang’s award for best graduating student of the Department of Religious 2010 session, the University of Calabar in 2010. He joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2011 as a Graduate Assistant and rose to the rank of Lecturer I in 2018. Dr. Ekpenyong lectures in the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, in the University of Calabar, Calabar where he teaches courses in Church History and Religion and Environment, and has also contributed immensely to the graduation of students in the University. He has participated in various activities in the past Ten years of his stay in the Department. Dr. Ekpenyong’s area of specialization is Ecclesiastical Historiography (Church History). He has more than Twenty three journal publications in reputable National and International Journals to his credits. He has attended many conferences, seminars and workshops. Dr. Ekpenyong is also a member of the following professional bodies. Faculties of Arts/Humanities Scholars’ Association of Nigerian Universities (FAHSANU) and Nigerian Association for the Study of Religions (NASR)..
