Mrs.Edemekong Ekpe got employed into the services of University of Calabar, Calabar in 2010 as an Assistant Lecturer. She holds a B.A. (2004) degree in Linguistics from the University of Calabar and M.A. degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan (2009). She is currently on her Ph.D programme in Communication with a Fellowship from the University of Calabar. Edemekong Ekpe teaches different courses in Communication including African Communication systems, Introduction to Mass Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Language Use in the Media, News Writing and Reporting, Communication and Society and so forth. Edemekong Ekpe has attended many conferences, locally and internationally. She has carried out several research projects like the Use of Nigerian Pidgin for Development, in CRBC (Radio), Documenting the Traditional marriage gift items in Ibibio. The Communicative Paradigins of Adim New Yam Festival, and so forth. Mrs Ekpe has successfully authored and co-authored several articles in peer reviewed academic journals and book chapters. She has been attending conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops where she presents papers. She has collaborated with renowned researchers in the field of communication and linguistics such as Prof. Bassey Andian Okon and Prof. Desmond Wilson. Edemekong Ekpe is a member of many Professional Associations such as African Council for Communication Education, West African Linguistics Conference and Linguistics Association of Nigeria.
