Dr. Demitrus Okim Oba

Dr. Demitrus Okim joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2010 as a Lecturer II in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning now Geography and Environmental Science in the University of Calabar, Calabar. He is currently in the Department of Tourism Studies after the split of the Department of Geography which is now the Faculty of Environmental Science. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Geography and Regional Planning (2000), M.Sc. degree in Environmental Resource Planning and Management Science (2006) and Ph.D Tourism Studies (2017), all from the University of Calabar, Calabar. He has been teaching, mentoring, researching and by extension, contributing to the graduation of students in the University. His main research interests include Eco-tourism and Conservation Planning, Environmental Science and Waste Management. Dr Demitrus Okim has attended many local and international conferences where he made presentations. He has successfully authored and co-authored over fifteen journal articles in reputable peer reviewed journals. He is a member of Nigerian Environmental Society.He is happily married with children. .
