Mr Daniel A. Bassey is an Assistant Lecturer who discharges his responsibilities with passion. He has good leadership qualities and copes well with his students and colleagues. Above all, he is highly civil and obedient. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc) in Zoology and Environmental Biology from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria where he graduated with Second Class (Upper Division) in 2012. He also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Zoology with a specialization in Entomology from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria in 2015. Currently, he is serving as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology, University of Calabar, Calabar and a Technical Research Assistant, PMI-USAID Vector Link Project, on mosquito surveillance and testing of insecticides resistance of mosquitoes in Cross River State, Nigeria using both CDC and WHO bioassays. He has been involved in fieldwork activities for various projects on the study of invertebrates in Nigeria and this has increased his experience in experimental design and field sampling. He teaches topics in some undergraduate courses such as General Biology II, Evolution of Animal, Invertebrate Zoology, General Entomology, Comparative Vertebrate Embryology, Animal Behaviour and Applied Entomology. He is also involved in the supervision of some undergraduate students’ research. He has attended local conferences and has published research articles in local and international journals. His current area of research interest includes medical entomology, insect physiology, insect ecology, biodiversity, molecular ecology, and insect biology. He is interested in applying field surveys, and geographic, morphological and ecological data in answering scientific questions. His research spans different insect groups.   .
