Mrs. Cherish Edet Thompson is a Lecturer of Physics at the University of Calabar. She attended Federal Government Girls’ College Calabar where she was the best in Physics and Further Mathematics. Cherish graduated from the Department of Physics, University of Calabar with B. Sc Physics in 2006. She proceeded for the National Youth Service Corp programme where worked as a Physics lecturer in Federal Polytechnic Bauchi. After the National Youth Service Corp programme, she worked briefly as a Science Teacher at St. Jude College, Calabar and in 2010 she was offered a job as an Administrative Assistant in the University of Calabar. Owing to her dedication and hard work, she grew to the position of an Assistant Registrar. However, due to her undying passion to grow in her area of study, she undertook a Post Graduate study and obtained a M. Sc. Physics (Applied Geophysics) in 2017. In 2019, Cherish was converted to an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Physics. Her core teaching and research spans through Environmental and Theoretical Geophysics. She is a promising and upcoming geophysicts with a keen interest in ground breaking areas of Geophysics. .
