Dr Benjamin Odey Omang is a European Union Intra_ACP Eras Mundus scholar for a PhD mobility at the University of Buea South-West Cameroon in 2012.He obtained a PhD degree in Applied geology with specialty in Economic geology. Prior to this he had a B.Tech degree in geology from the Federal University of Technology Yola (Now Modibbo Adama University Yola) in 2000 and a Masters degree (Mineral Exploration Option) from the Federal University of Technology Minna in 2008.His area of research is on gold geochemistry using geochemical and morphological attributes of pristine gold to constrain their composition, origin and transportation history. The growing demand for raere earth element (REE) have also stirred up his interest in REE. He is a member of many professional and statutory bodies amongst which is the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral deposit (SGA), Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), and the Council for Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG)..
