Dr. Anthony John Ilozobhie is currently an Associate Professor in the Geophysics Programme of the Department of Physics. He joined the services of the University of Calabar in 1995 as a Graduate Assistant after obtaining a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Physics and completing his mandatory NYSC assignment in present Osun State in 1993. He obtained an M.Sc. degree in Petroleum Geophysics from the Geology Department of the University in 2000 and in 2009, he was awarded Ph.D. in Geophysics by the University of Calabar. Dr. Ilozobhie specializes in seismic, borehole geophysics, and geostatistics. He has published high-quality papers in both local and international journals. He has attended and presented both physics and geophysics-related papers in many academic conferences and seminars. He is equally a member of many academic and professional societies like a member, Nigeria Institute of Physics, member, Society of Exploration Geophysicists, member and the Universal Association of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineer (NUACSEE). He was a member of the Federal Government of Nigeria team (2008 - 2009) on the Review and Re-assessment of geophysical data of Bornu Basin to ascertain the Hydrocarbon potential of the Basin. A project supervised by Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) under Mosunmolu Nigeria Limited. He is currently working on the Novel Approach for in situ determination of formation porosity from a designed and constructed density logging sonde. Dr Ilozobhie is married and blessed with children..
